This year is the 30th anniversary of the Bifa UK freight forwarding and logistics awards. Every year businesses from the industry send in applications to be considered for ten categories in the hopes of becoming a finalist.

For the first time Isca Forwarding Ltd decided to get involved and see if a small Devon based Freight Forwarder could compete with some of the large multinational companies for a place in the final. Putting themselves forward for the Extra Mile Award we were delighted when we found out we were one of four finalist in their category for these prestigious awards.

Jackie Evans MD of Isca Forwarding said: “Isca Forwarding has been operating for over 38 years and over those years has successfully built working business relationships with some of the most successful and largest companies in the South West. One of the reasons we feel we have maintained these great customer relationships is due to the importance we place on great customer service and going that extra mile for each and every shipment.”

Isca Forwarding listens to their customers and established there was a growing need for Fine Art Shipping specialists within the South West art community. Upon realising that the need was growing, Isca Forwarding decided to open the Fine Art Logistics division of the business. Their goal is to offer a personal and supportive service for artists and galleries in the South West.

Charlie Hewett from the Isca Fine Art team says: “Talking to artists and galleries in the South West we realised that the need for fine art packing and shipping was growing with online sales and the volume of tourists visiting the South West from abroad. We also established from conversations with customers that shipping in particular was a daunting idea for most people in the art industry if they hadn’t attempted it before. Using this knowledge we developed guides and customer support to help meet the needs of new art customers.”

The finalists of the Bifa awards will meet on the 17th January 2019 where the winners of each category will be announced. We are thrilled to be invited to the event and excited to see just how we fare against some of the big names in the freight industry. Jackie said “We have everything crossed but ultimately are just excited to be considered a worthy finalist!”
