What information do we need?

To successfully complete a customs entry clearing your goods there are some key details we require. This will includes copies of specific documentation and a completed customs clearance form. Have a look at the list below but please remember we are here to help and advise you.

  • Full Addresses and contact details for the customer and consignee
  • Your EORI number and for EU shipments your customers/suppliers EORI number or equivalent.
  • The gross weight and nett weight of the goods.
  • The commodity code for the goods
  • The value of the goods and the currency.
  • The CPC code and the INCO terms are also needed.
  • A commercial invoice and packing list.
  • For imports the Bill of Lading or Airway Bill.
  • The method of transport including flight number or vessel and container number.

It is worth noting that when we complete an customs declaration we are asked to add the goods by commodity code and for each commodity code we have to provide a description, quantity, nett and gross weight and the value for that commodity. Therefore when you are sending multiple products under different commodity codes the above details need to be broken down on either you invoice and packing list or on our customs clearance form.

Determining Your Commodity Code

Your commodity code can be found following a step by step process on the Government website. The commodity code determines the VAT and Duty being charged on these products on import into the UK and the Taxes and Duty on import to countries from the UK.  It is essential that the correct code is used as goods can be inspected by customs upon import.

How Much Does It Cost?
